RecorderThe Recorder unit captures HTTP requests from MS Internet Explorer while viewing pages and converts them into requests for Testing Master. To achieve this, Testing Master uses a small transparent proxy engine running on your computer and listening for HTTP requests on port number 8001. Testing Master modifies MS Internet Explorer proxy settings to make it use Testing Master›s proxy. Each of the captured HTTP requests is displayed in the Log Area. Thus all user activity on a web site is decomposed into separate simple requests. The desired set of requests can be exported for further use into the Requests section of the Editor tab. Controls: - starts the proxy engine; - stops the proxy engine; - starts logging requests to the Log Area; - stops logging requests to the Log Area; - sets the MSIE global proxy settings to your_computername:8001; - restores the MSIE global proxy settings to their initial values; - exports all requests listed in the Log Area to the Editor tab All captured requests are displayed as separate lines in the Log Area (request method, server and URI are listed). Before exporting requests, you can filter the contents of the Log Area: right-click a request line and select one of the following:
